Ugandan Female Musician Rema Namakula is currently on a European tour and she performed in Turkey over the weekend.
The singer took to her Facebook to reveal she was racially abused at a certain airport in Ankara, Turkey.
She was referred to as a monkey by one of the unrevealed airport workers.
“I thought racism stopped until yesterday when a woman referred to me as a monkey. A baby even cried after seeing us and the mother confirmed that we are monkeys,” she narrated in a video posted on her Facebook.
Many of her followers including former Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande sympathized with her.
“So sad, unfortunately, racism is still among us,” – she commented.
Some of her fans commented that it was her beauty that confused them.
